Age: 42
Occupation: professional
Number of Cruises: 1
Cruise Line: Carnival
Ship: Jubilee
Sailing Date: August 28th, 2003
Itinerary: Western Caribbean

This was my first and last cruise ( at least on Carnival). All of the romantic notions of a cruise went right out the window shortly after my arrival on the Jubilee. Embarkation was a long, long Ellis Island type procedure unless you arrived earlier than 1:30 (like my friends) The crew were all very nice and worked hard, but it seemed that there was always cleaning equipment cluttering the narrow hallways and at least 5 industrial blowers with heavy-duty electrical cords stretched across the floors of the Funnel Bar dining room. Like other reviewers, I thought the smell onboard was unpleasant (even in the Funnel Bar which smelled like the hs cafeteria where I teach)

Pools were very small and I never felt relaxed because the area was so crowded. The person in the next deck chair was no more that 5 inches away. The live music by the pool was also very loud and made it difficult to have casual conversation. Also, debarkation was a zoo. We were told at least 3 different procedures but it seemed there was an exception to each procedure and all of their emphasis on following procedure fell by the wayside as everyone did whatever worked for them. I do not recommend this particular boat.
