Carnival Jubilee Cruise Review

Ship: jubilee
Sailing Date: May 1st, 2004
Itinerary: Southern Caribbean

My husband and I recently returned from a 7-day Southern Caribbean cruise on Carnival Cruise lines Jubilee. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and because we were past guests. We left from San Juan and went to St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Lucia, Dominica and the Dominican Republic. There was only a partial day at sea. I tend to get anxious on the days at sea so we try to avoid them. I had a miserable time on the ship and I have found Carnival Cruise lines to not be sincere in wanting to find a solution to the problem.

Our room was horrible. Every morning at 3 a.m. we were awakened by the crashing and banging in the galley. It was right above our room. Every morning I called the Pursers office to complain. I offered to pay to upgrade to one of the 10 suites on this ship but of course there were not any available. They could do nothing but send security to tell them to keep it down and with in an hour it was back in full force again. They sent me 4 free drink coupons for my trouble. This did not sit well with me. The last day of the cruise they sent a letter offering us 10% off our next cruise! Yippy! I’m really looking forward to my next experience with Carnival. They really stand behind there service and hospitality. Wow, what a slap in the face I felt.

Upon returning home I called customer service to complain and I have been offered 15% and last but not least 20% off my next cruise. Did I mention the wait time has been up to 45 min. Today I was on the phone for an hour! I spoke to a supervisor though...she was not available last time I called. The supervisor spoke down to me several times. Informing me that I was upgraded to this room when I booked the cruise and that because I did not take advantage of the vacation guarantee that she could do nothing for me. Note: I would have had to leave the ship at the port and they would have helped me find transportation home. Then they would have refunded the rest of the remaining fair of my trip. My family was on this cruise, I did not realize I could do that and in all my complaining on the ship it was never offered as an option to me. I finally gave up....why waist my time. Instead I want to inform you and others about my experience so you can make an informed decision that will work for you based on your own personal expectations. Good luck!

P.S. St. Lucia is absolutely breath taking! We are going back.....but this time to an all-inclusive resort. Sandals has always been top notch!
