Paradise Cruise Review
Rob & Char
My wife and I took a 4 night Carnival cruise on the Carnival Paradise out of Long Beach, California. We had the best trip of our lives. It was so romantic and although the ship is full of people, it does not feel that way.
There are all kinds of places to get away on the ship. The schedule of events and their times are delivered to your room every night. This makes it easy to make it to the Vegas style shows and top notch comedy shows that are running at multiple times, for everyone.
We talked with the kids on board to see how they liked the cruise and they said it was the best time they had ever had. The food was plentiful and lots of it. The formal dinner restaurant was top notch and the room service usually pretty quick.
We enjoyed Catalina Island and recommend that you rent a golf cart for your party since you can see all of Avalon and some great views of the ship for picture taking. We had a blast. The people were very friendly and laid back. There are a lot of things to do there including a submarine. Snorkeling in the clearest water in the United States, parasailing, glass bottom boat and many other tours. There is some great shopping, and if you look around you can always find a good deal on something. A good tip is to stop at Von's market and pick up some sodas and waters for back on the ship. They will let you bring it to your room if its not too much (like a case of each).
Ensanada Mexico was fun and there are a lot of great shopping deals to be had. Ensanada is very dirty and I would not recommend that women go out on their own as it can be dangerous. Stick to American tourist areas to be safe. Papas and bears is a blast and prices are reasonable for good drinks and food. The water and ice are safe there, due to an in-house filtration system. My wife and I used Sea Bands for motion sickness and had no problems although we met others who where not so lucky (remember to make sure Sea bands are placed correctly and you will have no problems) I take medications and was glad to have this non-drug alternative. Boarding was fast and very smooth.
Disembarking took a while but if you relax
and enjoy some food on the Lido deck it will go smoothly. I would definitely
recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a fun enjoyable vacation for a good
price. also just wanted to let you know that the ocean view rooms are spacious
and would recommend you have it decorated if you are having a special occasion.
My wife was so surprised at how nice the room was decorated. Hope this helps you
and Bon Voyage!
