I was a first time cruiser on the Carnival Sensation. I had such a horrible experience that I will never forget this cruise ever. I was practically eaten alive by the ships bed bugs and there was no relief in sight. It's hard to believe that a cruise ship does not have cortisone or anti-itch relief of some sort. This was the longest three days of my life. Not only, was I bitten by bed bugs along w/ a few others I met on the Rivera deck but we also dealt w/ bad odors in our bathrooms and hot cabins w/ poor air circulation. As a means to accommodate my request for assistance Carnival sent a "so called bed bug expert" to my room to inspect the mattress and he told me there was no evidence of bed bugs. Although he had no explanation for the bite marks on my body since I had been in the room the entire evening resting. As a means of some relief, I asked for rubbing alcohol pads and was informed that the clinic was closed at 6:00 pm for some reason or another. In order to get alcohol swabs I would need to pay $20 to open the clinic after hours although my brochure clearly states that the clinic should be open until 8 pm. The only good thing I have to say about the entire experience is the manager that came to my room was very friendly although the nurse was completely rude over the phone. The nurse had the mitigated gal to call my bite marks alleged and insisted on me pay on me paying $20 for alcohol pads. Sorry Carnival, but this was the worst experience imaginable.

The food was plain and ordinary, although the dining rooms were a lot better . The process eggs by the pool side shoud sum it up in a nutshell.

Excursions were much cheaper if you dont go through carnival and book them on the island.

The beach was the highlight of the trip.
