Cruise Line: Carnival

Ship: Carnival Sensation

Sailing Date: May 18th, 2006

Itinerary: Bahamas

Despite terrible reviews on the Sensation, my family decided to take a chance on a cruise to the Bahamas. We decided to take the chance mainly because of a very sincere young agent from Carnival who assured us that all the repairs on the Sensation were completed.

My family, (wife, son aged 13 and daughter aged 10) truly had the time of our loves on this beautiful ship. I saw no signs of the things I had read about. The boat was extremely clean, the staff was extremely professional, and every bite of food we ate was excellent. Embarkation was a breeze, get their early because the party starts around 1pm for a cruise that leaves at 430.

Now, I am not saying the cruise was perfect. Our bathroom in Riviera 43 did have a slight odor to it that never went away. We simply closed the bathroom door and it wasn't ever noticed. It was Barely noticeable. My least favorite part of the trip was Carnivals Sail and Sign deal, where none of the waitresses want cash, they want you to sign for it so they bill you to a pre destined credit card. That way the waitresses were assured tips. No one on the ship wants cash. The only thing you can drink for free on the entire ship is lemonade or fruit punch. Everything else is billed to you.
Those are the bad things

Now the good
excellent, lido decks hamburgers, pizzas, ice cream. all offered any time of the day or night. the ,meals in the dining room were excellent, do not miss the prime rib or veal parmesan, the waiters were excellent, Sarin especially.

Online excursions - we went to pearl island to snorkel with the sting rays, wow just awesome, and the other snorkeling on pearl island, I had read that no one saw any fish, well they had fixed that problem. There were millions of fish , it was simply wonderful and the guides were excellent.

I will end this review by letting everyone know that this is a nice, economical cruise. I believe that the sensation is back to what it once was and I would not hesitate to recommend this ship to friends.

By the way, the entertainment on the ship is incredible. Wee Willy, cruise director, dude you are the best. We actually watched you on the TV in the room and your 10 funniest things that you had been asked on the cruise this week had us laughing the entire way home.

Casinos were adequate, Look for dealers Dassy and Barbara, their smiles light up the room and they actually make you feel like they want you to win,
