This was the 14th cruise we have sailed on. My wife and I took the Celebrity Century Alaskan cruise roundtrip from Vancouver. Alaska was the last state we needed to visit to complete all 50.

The boarding process was quick and very efficient. The dining room staff, cocktail staff and room stewards were above average in their service. This is the third Celebrity cruise we took and the food was better then we had on most other cruise lines.

The entertainment was good with the exception of the magician who spent too much time trying to get the audience to applaud him. This is a plea. Please quit having entertainers say "put your hands together". We'll applaud if the entertainment deserves it.

Overall this cruise was good value and had good service. Where it failed miserably was the cabin. Our cabin, 1071, was directly below the aft dining room kitchen. You know, the room where they wheel in all the dishes on carts. My wife can sleep through a tornado. Seriously, she did one night when it struck our neighborhood in Texas. I however require a reasonable amount of quiet when trying to sleep. This cabin was equivalent to sleeping below a bowling alley. The noise started around 11pm and didn't subside until about 4am at which time they were starting to prepare for breakfast. I got about 8 hours sleep the first 3 days until the housekeeping supervisor finally did something to help quiet the noise somewhat. I told customer relations about it after the 1st day and their response was and i quote "nobody every complained about this before". Sorry, wrong answer. If you are running a hotel and a guest has an obvious problem with noise you correct it immediately. Assign another room, kill the noise and for God's sake don't say nobody ever complained about this before. That's like calling me a liar. On day 4 customer relations called our room and offered a bottle of wine or dinner in the restaurant but the damage was already done. Bottom line is we won't be sailing Celebrity again. Not because of their ship, their service or anything else except their pathetic customer relations.

The food was well prepared, tasted good and was served professionally.

Please see overall experience. I don't need to repeat it.

Quite good. The cruise director and his staff did a good job engaging the passengers and the variety offered for different activities was impressive.

We did our own off ship activities.

Again, note the overall experience.
