We just returned from cruising on the Century and had a wonderful trip. I had
cruised a few times with Royal Caribbean, once with Holland American and once
with Princess and found Celebrity the best overall.
The Century is a mid-size ship. Having cruised on two mega ships with different
lines I found I liked the mid-size ship better. There were very short lines for
food and less traffic issues in the main areas.
The cuisine was the highlight of the ship. The food was the best I’ve had
cruising.
The ship is clean and comfortable. They provide several extra touches such as
padded lounge chairs, robes in the room and we especially appreciated the fresh
drinking water served daily in our room in a silver-serving tray.
The service was outstanding and entertainment good. The only down side I would
say which was really not a big deal is that the pools are very small and there
aren’t many places to sit near the pool because they fill up so quickly. I’ve
appreciated separate pool areas for adults vs. children on other ships that
provided larger pools and sitting areas.
In regards to the ports of call we loved them all and would do them all again
because they are all beautiful and different. Don’t let the bad press about
Jamaica deter you from enjoying this port. We booked a four hour excursion with
Phil Lafayette on-line which included a city tour, tubing and Dunns River Falls.
By booking an excursion we completely avoided the hacklers.
Great ship and stops…. You’ll be sure to enjoy…
