The Great, the bad and the ugly
The working staff was great to include stateroom attendant and his helpers, the
waiters and dining room workers.
The lounge and show performers
were also very entertaining. The food was above average although when we
returned from San Juan early because of rain looking for pizza there was a line
40 to 50 deep and only two workers not even attempting to keep up. The ship was
always very clean although there were a lot of gnats. Embarkation and
disembarkation could only have been faster if we wore roller skates and we did
appreciate that. Hint: passports make it much faster.
The Bad: The Captain seemed very aloof. The only time we saw him was when they
sang his praises at the Captains Dinners. When we arrived in port late (all of
them) he offered no explanation or regrets. We did somehow manage to arrive back
in Ft. Lauderdale several hours early at the end of the cruise.
The UGLY The ship seemed to bobble a lot in 6 to 8 foot swells I'm not sure but
fellow travelers who were cruise veterans said this was unusual. Port arrivals.
We were late every time and not by a few minutes. In San Juan it was almost dark
and it wasn't worth the trip anyway. St Thomas is crowded and still hasn't
recovered from the storms. Dirty approach to shopping area. St. Marteen is
coming back nicely but being tendered in at least an hour late was an experience
I don't care to repeat (clean up your boats). Nassau we arrived 2 hours late
water taxi to Atlantis although $1.00 cheaper was wrong choice it's a long walk
around construction to get to Atlantis. Taxis drop you off at door giving you
almost 30 to 40 minutes extra there. Shops close at 6PM and there isn't alot
there to miss anyway.
Physically the ship is beautiful but in need of updates.
Special thanks to AntonioJ and Deigo for making a mediocre situation much
better.
P.S. add a few dollars on to the cost of the cruise and include sodas quit
nickle and diming folks to death.
