Constellation Cruise Review

Stacey Scrivani

Age: 30
Occupation: Attorney
Number of Cruises: 1
Cruise Line: Celebrity
Ship: Constellation
Sailing Date: January 31st, 2004
Itinerary: Dominican Republic, Barbados, Grenada, Antigua and St. Thomas

This was my first cruise ever and had high expectations for Celebrity based on reviews from family members. Having just got off the boat, I am, in a word, disappointed. First, and most important, the food was less than adequate. Breakfast (both in the dining room and on the buffet) was exactly the same every day. Additionally, the seaside grill, which is the only place you can get food on the boat in the mid-afternoon served the same burgers, hotdogs, pizza and fries every day. The lunch buffet was disgusting. Dinner was generally good, but nothing to rave about. Second, a number of celebrity's employees were rude. Particularly, those assisting with disembarkation and shore excursions. Finally, Celebrity charges extra for things that should be included such as aerobics classes and seminars (wine tastings).

Grenada and St. Thomas are great ports of call. Barbados is horrifying. Ladies -- do not travel on Barbados alone. The men are very rude and make you feel uncomfortable.
