Lucky for us we found a K-mart in St Thomas. This happen to 50+ people on the ship coming in on a direct flight from Charlotte, NC to San Juan, PR. I received a form from the Concierge for expenses we spent for the three days we were without luggage. They stated US Air would honor this insurance form from Celebrity. US Air did not accept the insurance form. At this time we are taking our losses, it is too difficult to deal with Celebrity.
Please note that we did pay for the travel insurance. The Galaxy’s staff was difficult to deal with and frustrating to talk to. Celebrity’s Century ship was excellent. I did not have to go to the main hotel desk at all. I did like Celebrity Cruise Lines. Today I can say I do not. On the Positive side…
The suite was excellent the outside deck in our room was very big. We have a large table with two chairs and two lounges for sun bathing, and still had plenty of room to walk around. The room was large and well kept. The bathroom had a whirlpool and a shower with a temperature gauge on it to automatically regulate the temperature.
The selection of food was good, but could be enhanced for American tastes. (A little too strange) The shore excursions were excellent especially if you like booze. I will remember St. Kitt, Barbados, Venezuela, and Aruba for a long time. St Thomas was OK, but too Americanized. A couple on the ship got robbed at gunpoint in St Thomas. San Juan stunk. There is no reason to go to San Juan.
We extended our stay in San Juan at the Westin Rio Resort. The Westin was the most expensive resort I ever went to… $13 for a Hamburger, Chips and soda at the pool. $30 each for a buffet dinner. $6 a beer. Ahh… We spent two and a half-hours to get through security at San Juan Airport on Sunday.
