I guess after 12 + cruises you will get a less than expected result. second
celebrity cruise rest with hal(mercury to mexico several yrs ago food was far
superior & equal to hal)cruise) & will not go again. many europeans on this ship
& it tells how well they market to get a full ship. drop prices & they will
come. it also shows in the food. limited selections, example fake lobster
tails(southern) not the real thing (northern), fish just ok ,no dover sole,no
crab legs, salmon. (you can have shrimp cocktail or steak any night) these are a
few examples of the cost cutting. the ship was full & the bad layout/flow was
apparent at dinner time. service was good but i realized the bar waiters/wine
steward work on commission & try to push for more to drink or for pricier wines.
we had a bad bottle of wine ,which occurs more often in recent years ,I tasted
it & the wine steward said it was ok i asked my wife to taste it & my sister in
law also got in on this scene. we all said it was bad. i have never had a debate
on bad wine before. on a recent hal cruise same scene the wine steward
immediately returned with a new bottle. don't get a stateroom in the stern area
/ our mistake booked late no options the stern (back 15% of ship) below decks is
very loud. the deck areas are poorly laid out . on the top deck stern you get a
shower of soot from the funnel & getting a seat outside to eat lunch was a task.
they are adding verandas to this ship, it should be sold to a lesser line. first
time cruisers will probably not notice & you can have fun which we did but if
you choose celebrity try a different ship. for me i like the class of hal not
the art deco of celebrity.
