Mercury Cruise Review

Age: 36
Occupation: Attorney
Number of Cruises: 3
Cruise Line: Celebrity Cruises
Ship: Mercury
Sailing Date: June 29th, 2001
Itinerary: Alaska Southbound

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful Alaska cruise aboard the Mercury. Our previous cruise experience includes a European voyage on the Sea Goddess 1. We loved the Mercury. She exceeded our expectations in every respect. The food was consistently outstanding. The views from our table (504) were magnificent and our waiter, Joe, was extremely professional and skilled. Although we were skeptical of the entertainment as we had read reviews indicating that it was “amateurish,” we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the shows and musical acts aboard the ship. The Celebrity Singers and Dancers put on an especially memorable and entertaining tribute to the James Bond films entitled “Bond Voyage.” We loved it and thoroughly enjoyed the other shows they performed. We also enjoyed the male a capella quartet “The Overtones” and thought they were very talented and entertaining. Our cabin (Category 5 oceanview on Panorama Deck) was very comfortable and contained amenities such as bathrobes, VCR and shampoo/lotion etc. I am very hard to please when it comes to hotels (I tend to stay in Four Seasons and Ritz Carltons when I travel) and am a tough judge. The fact that I was completely satisfied with every aspect of the Mercury would speak volumes to anyone who knows me. This was the best cruise experience we have had so far and would definitely sail Celebrity again. We will look forward to our next Celebrity cruise.
