Mercury Cruise Review

Mary Panzenhagen

Age: 31 to 40
Occupation: sales
Number of Cruises: 11 to 20 Cruises
Ship: Mercury
Sailing Date: June 9th, 2000
Itinerary: Southbound Alaska

This cruise was the best that we've ever taken--and we've been on several!  The Mercury is a beautiful ship.  She's very clean, the service onboard is just fabulous and there is plenty to do.  We thought the entertainment onboard was quite good...there are numerous bands in the different lounges, as well as a couple of production shows.  The food was the best we've ever experienced.

Alaska is a beautiful place to visit, but don't expect excellent weather.  Bring sweaters and warm clothes along.  Also bring binoculars because there might be bears or eagles on the shoreline while you're sailing by.

One of the most enjoyable activities we did on board was attend the fine art auctions!  Who would have thought we could find Picasso's, Rembrandts and Peter Max original artwork on board!  We are art lovers and we were thrilled to find a Park West Art Gallery onboard---for those that don't know, Park West is the LARGEST gallery in the world.  And the prices they offer are easily 50% less than we've paid at our local gallery!  We highly recommend checking out the art auctions if you have some wall-space to fill!

We highly recommend this cruise to anyone interested in cruising Alaska!
