The overall experience
Although the ship had been sanitized from 3am when it docked until we boarded at
4 pm that day we were in for a nasty surprise AFTER the ship sailed. It seems
that the crew (on the captain’s orders) made the interior of the ship look clean
and sparkling for our embarkation. We were in for a cruise that not only didn't
give us what we paid for but bleached every surface vertical and horizontal
every 30 minutes. I appreciate the ongoing problems of Norwalk but to see this
bleach/water mix running down every wall and window the whole cruise was
disgusting. If one accidentally got to close to anything one's clothes were
ruined as I and many others experienced. There are many more complaints I could
write about but the above should be enough to let you know what we and many
other passengers felt and discussed every day. When we were coming back into San
Diego to disembark I noticed and photographed the crew (I'm sure on the ship
Line's orders were removing and republishing the entire interior for the next
set of passengers arriving that day. This to me is ORGANIZED DECEPTION. The 2
bright things on the ship were how well our cabin was attended to and the meals
in the dinning room with our waiter Carlos from table 606. Oh yes, every time
the ship was in port or at anchor the dinning room was closed for breakfast and
lunch which forced us to eat in the cafeteria which many of us didn't really
enjoy. Since this was our 3rd cruise this year we were very disappointed with
the lack of information and the lack of breathing concerns for all the
passengers aboard the Mercury. At this time we would defiantly not recommend
traveling on this ship until this ship is taken out of service and totally
cleaned up without subjecting the paying passengers to these terrible
conditions.
