My husband and I decided on the Costa line after researching several ships. Costa gave us the best deal for the money and we were upgraded to a cabin with a Veranda (Wonderful). The food was excellent and we tried both the 9th deck buffet for both breakfast and lunch, and our regular dining room. Both were excellent. The quality and variety of meals were wonderful. As far as the Entertainment - we are early risers, so did not do many late night reviews, but what we did see was excellent. We saw an impersonator who was wonderful. He did everything from Willy Nelson and Johnny Cash to Frank Sinatra and Englebert Humperdink. He was great. The cruise director and his staff were very informative and very attentive . We went on Easter Week and we were told that there were over 200 children on board and guess what? The only time we saw the children was at dinner time and they were very quiet and didn't bother anyone. The Dining Room Staff was EXCELLENT - we got very attached to our waiter and hated to leave him. Our CABIN STEWARD was very attentive and was always there when we needed anything - TOP SHELF! As far as excursions on the itinerary. We only did 1 which was VERY GOOD. It was the St. John Island Excursion from St. Thomas. The landscape was very nice and we had a very good tour guide. We walked up to Old San Juan and did shopping - very European and very clean and on the last day we walked up to the center of Nassau and did some shopping - very colorful buildings and very nice Natives. The only stop that we didn't care for was Catalina Island. Costa staff was GREAT to inform passengers not to drink water or ice cubes from anyone other than the Costa Staff that set up a bar on the beach. The beach was GORGEOUS but we decided to stay on the ship and enjoy the ship's facilities instead. Better Safe than sorry. Toga night was a lot of fun and we dressed up the part. We will MOST DEFINITELY take another Costa Cruise. They have a few ships that are being built and will be ready in 2003 - you can COUNT US IN! If anyone would like to E-Mail me for more information, please feel free to.
