We had a wonderful time on our Costa cruise! We are a married couple in our mid-forties and were
traveling with our son, who just finished his first semester of college. We were seated at the first
seating at dinner with another couple our age, who had a son who also had just completed his first
semester in college. They proved to be very charming dinner companions and the young men had a good
time "hanging out" together at night in the disco. We found the food at all meals to be
well varied and almost always fabulous. It certainly was in abundance and there was even afternoon
tea every day with sandwiches and cakes. No, there wasn't a full, spectacular midnight buffet every
night (only one night was it extensive), but we found that there was an over abundance of food and
we certainly didn't want a lavish buffet after a full dinner. The service was impeccable at every
level. The passengers were a vary diverse group -- alot of Europeans -- but also alot of families.
It seemed very "kid friendly" to even those with very small children. (One of the
advantages was that they served pizza every day from something like 11-2:30 -- what kid doesn't love
pizza!)
We didn't have perfect weather and unfortunately the two excursions we had
planned ended up being cancelled. The only port that we didn't care for was Ocho Rios (the natives
were quite pushy and obnoxious). All in all, though, it was an excellent vacation; extremely
relaxing and a good way for our little family to be together and do something that all of us would
enjoy (anyone who has ever had a teenager knows what I mean). The formal nights were very elegant,
and although we didn't take advantage of a lot of evening activities we came home very well rested
and refreshed. I would sail on the Atlantica again in a second!
