We returned last week from a very enjoyable cruise on the Costa Atlantica. It
was our first with Costa, and before leaving for the cruise, we read all the
reviews posted. However, we do not agree with most of the reviews. We found the
food at both the buffet and in the dining room to be great and presented quite
well. The waiters and assistant waiters were very competent and friendly. The
assistant head waiter stopped by our table each night.
We booked a balcony cabin and it was very acceptable. However, the partitions
separating each balcony did not afford much privacy when talking and there was a
cigar smoker on the adjacent balcony.
We enjoyed the shows (although, the dancers were not that good) and fell in love
with the Cafe Floridian. We attended two concerts there, one with a violinist
and pianist and the second, a tenor accompanied by a pianist.
The reception desk personnel were very helpful and knowledgeable. We did not
book any excursions as we have cruised to this area many times. The private
island was most enjoyable and the barbecue served was better than NCL. We would
recommend this cruise and we will book her again.
We have cruised on Holland America, Wind spirit, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean,
Crystal, Princess and even Carnival so I believe our review is not biased.
The itinerary, with two full days and some half days at sea was also quite
enjoyable and relaxing.
