We were a family of five Americans traveling on what was basically a euro-cruise for Europeans. However, it did not matter at all. My children are ages 23, 20 & 18 and met very interesting people and so did we. We had two adjoining outside cabins with verandas on the 8th deck which was just perfect. We were so pleased with the spacious rooms and ample closet space. The last cruise we took was to Bermuda with Royal Caribbean, where we were disappointed in the size of the cabins and especially the bathrooms & showers.

Everything about the Magica was fabulous! First, it was new, modern, huge, but the crew was so attentive to our every need, that it felt like you traveled with your own housekeeping staff. Every member of the staff was so willing to be helpful. The food, although primarily catering to the European palette, was exceptional. Every pasta dish was authentic and delicious. The soups were hearty, and seemed like they were home made. There was only one night where the prawns didn't taste quite right, but our waiter was quick to exchange our entree for another.

The excursions were taylor-made to our specific itinerary so that each was timed perfectly to the ship's meal schedules. They also were not overly exhausting and the tour guides were exceptionally well-versed in the sites we visited.

The entertainment ranged from excellent to okay, but it did not take away from the wonderful time we had on this Mediterranean vacation.

We are looking forward to Costa's new ship, due to arrive in 2006, with what we hope is an all new itinerary.

We're hoping it could possibly include Venice, Florence & Naples. What a great trip that would be!
