Itinerary: Mediterranean

The Costa Marina is a small ship where the atmosphere is very pleasant. However, as it is quite small, not very long and not very wide either, it is most unpleasant when the sea is rough, which is exactly what happened to us a few days ago. For 36 hours, the ship seemed to be very unstable and a lot of people were sea-sick. The sea was so bad that the port autotities, in Port Mahon, Minorca, forbade the ship to enter the port. So, we had to sail on to Barcelona.

The food on board is a little more than average. Honestly, I have eaten better meals elsewhere.

The shows are very good indeed and very varied, too.

Be careful if you travel in Tunis since it seems tourists are easy prey to ill-intentioned people who will compel you to buy things from them at an incredibly high price, even to European or American standards.

I may travel again with osta but I will never get on board the Costa Marina since I know there are much better cruises available.

small but clean. Not much space though, but that is the case in all cruise ships, isn't it?
We had two big round windows inside, which were very convenient to sea outside.

Stay away from Tunis: it is both dirty and dangerous. You won't probably be physically attacked but people will sell you lots of uninteresting things at incredibly high prices.

- Monte Carlo: beautiful place between the mountains and the sea.
- Livorno: a little Venice.
- Olbia and the Costa Smeralda: a most beautiful place full of rich people too.
- Capri: the most beautiful spot of the whole cruise.
- Tunis: avoid it!
- Port Mahon: we didn't visit because of the storm. Our ship stayed away and sailed directly to the next port.
- Barcelona: the big Spanish port and city: visit the ramblas and the Sagrada Familia cathedral.
