Costa Mediterranea Cruise Review
To begin, my first cruise experience was royal Caribbean so I believe my review will be quite fair considering that royal is THE cruise line these days. We being my husband and my 2 children aged 3 and 8, booked Costa on a whim. Not knowing how it would go, since we had our first experience with the royal Caribbean, were a little nervous before sailing. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the opulence even bordering tacky it was still kind of owe inspiring to see all the gold glitter and marble in one place at one time.
Everything was immaculate, the service was amazing remember I'm comparing to royal Caribbean) If you dropped a napkin there would be three people ready to pick it up for you. The food, now, we're Canadian with quite a variety of European backgrounds, bottom line this means picky. It was not very elaborate but very tasty and instead of having a million different things it was just narrowed down to a smaller variety but again it was very good. Royal on the other hand has a lot more variety but I found it very bland and very repetitive.
I can't understand why peoples' reviews were so harsh. I imagine you can't have it all. I know that for the same room on royal I paid a lot more double almost. As for the kiddies club one word AMAZING, my kids were happy and safe and the counselors did a great job. For me that was very important. We're planning on going on the new "Magica" in January 06'but after I've read the reviews I'm a little worried now. I guess a new ship needs to iron out the kinks. Will submit my review upon my return. If anybody out there can write up on the Caribbean experience for the Magica it would be greatly appreciated.
