Itinerary: Norway Fjords
We visited the Fjords of Norway. Ports of Call were: Hellystadt, Gerainger, Flam, Bergen, Stavanger and Oslo. The scenery was breathtaking. The cruise ship was superb. It was a very well organized ship; excellent food, good entertainment, well organized tours at ports of call or tour on your own. The Staff were excellent.
The ship is Italian Registry and Italian hospitality was shown during the cruise. The only thing that I felt that could be improved upon was that the ship being an European Cruise Ship had to talk in 6 different languages for announcements, one of which was English. This should be streamlined somewhat.
Costa excellence was shown from time getting to ship to departure at the airport. Costa had representatives at the airport and special check-in counters for their cruise ship and it made the trip so enjoyable. Costa representatives were available if you wanted them until they could no longer go further at the airport terminal. You could ask as many questions and the hospitality was superb. We will definitely travel with Costa many more times.
We had a Balcony statement with obstructed view on the 5th deck. We wanted this as the price was almsot the same as an Oceanview, but we had a balcony. The obstruciton was only at balcony ground level and we could see the beautiful scernry all around us. The obstrucitons were the life boats and tender boats that were hung belong our deck.
I went on one Excursion in Flam and it was terrific. Flam Excurision is going on 1 tour bus and 2 trains and it is a must if you go to Norway. The other days I went into port or went on a tour from the city.
In Stavanger I visited with cousins who I met for the first time. It was a short port of call, but very memorable and will be back to Norway to visit again.
