Itinerary: Mediterranean

We chose this cruise for it's itinerary. We wanted to see Greece. In hind sight, this cruise is probably not the best way to do this. The ports of call (Ancona, Santorini, Mykonos, Athens, Corfu and Dubrovnik) are beautiful, but there is definitely NOT enough time at each destination. Very rushed! The cruise ship itself is nothing special. We have been on other cruises (Princess, Royal Carib) and Costa Victoria is definitely not in the same category. The ship looks old and worn/dated. It was often loud and noisy every where we went. This cruise is not for honeymooners!

The food was not good. Very little variety and not very tasty. Not much more to say here.

Our stateroom was roomy for two. It was cheaper to book two rooms than to squeeze all four of us into one. We were in an oceanview. The room was dated but clean.

All in Italian...so we didn't take part most of the time. We are English speaking and you will be a minority. Most instructions given in Italian. If they do announcements in English, they come at the very last and by then, you've stopped listening.

You need a tour in Athens (go for an on shore excursion). This is much cheaper and you see much much more of the city. We had a personal taxi tour with George the Famous taxi driver's company. You need a tour in Santorini to get the most of your 4 hours (Oia is a must see). The rest of the ports can be done on your own.

We would not go on a Costa cruise again. The staff on board was its only saving grace. They were friendly and helpful. See Greece without a cruise!!!!
