My cruise on the Caronia was one the best that I have taken. The ship is in great shape since its refurbishments. Light colors and warm woods to say the least. It definitely in the 5+ star class. One important feature is the stability of the vessel in rough waters. It rides like a dream in 7 foot swells. You can tell it was built well as there is no creaking as in older ships of its kind. There was a mixed crowd, mostly American & English although many other nationalities were represented. The age group was mainly over 60 but quite a few younger passengers were on board. Even a Gay group was present also.

With only 535 passengers out of 650 on board the service was impeccable to say the least. Food was prepared and presented as only a five star vessel can produce. The Tivoli Restaurant was a special treat and reservations not that easy to get unless you sign up early. Only complaint that many had were the shore excursions in the various ports. For example in Estonia many complained that the guides were hard to understand due to language accents. Plus the tours were quite pricey for what you got. We opted to do our own thing.

The rooms were beautifully decorated with warm colors and woods. Good closet and drawer space was also prevalent. TVs and refrigerators also complimented each cabin. The Bars were also warm and inviting and staff terrific. All in all we had a wonderful experience. So much so, we are going on her again on Dec 7 for 13 days of shear bliss in the Caribbean. Most definitely a WINNER!
