Queen Elizabeth 2
Queen Elizabeth 2 has been retired and is no longer in service
This is, without a doubt, the most famous ship of our time. Built on the famed river Clyde, the Queen Elizabeth 2 was christened by HRH the Queen in 1969. Originally a steam ship, she was converted into a motor ship in the world's largest-ever technical conversion of a passenger ship in 1986/87, carried out by the internationally renowned Lloyd Werft in Germany. She ran trans Atlantic crossings until her younger sister, the Queen Mary 2 was launched. Since then she is serving as a cruise ship offering itineraries world wide. She was most recently refurbished in 1999.
