This was my family's fourth cruise. We have cruised with Carnival in the past and this was our first Disney cruise. We were very excited and had high expectations since it was DISNEY. We were very disappointed to say the least....The food, the service, and the price was much better on all three Carnival cruises. Disney's shows were a little better but definitely not worth the price difference just to enjoy a show.

We also chose Disney this time because we believed that the experience would be a little more "family friendly" so it was worth the extra cost to us. Very disappointed to find out that is not the case. I feel that it is inappropriate for "European" style swimwear (thongs) in Nemo's Reef (the infant/toddler water area). I would expect to see this at foreign ports or maybe the adult area of the ship however I did not expect to see it in the children's area of a "family friendly" Disney ship. Unfortunately, Disney is unwilling to ask that guests limit this type of swimwear to the adult area of the ship. I may be the only one who has an issue with this but please keep this in mind if you are planning a family cruise and the European culture is not for you.....

Cabanas had shrimp and crab legs available on the first day...that was the best part for us. Dinner menus left a lot to be desired. A lot of "unusual" choices and the flavor was not so good. Waited awhile for the food to be served and then the food was not hot.

Very nice shows....and host was wonderful!!!!!

Didn't seem to be as many as with Carnival but this was a shorter cruise and we had the children to keep us busy! The characters were available at VERY limited times. This was not an activity but it sort of became like one...waiting for an available elevator. We had a stroller this time so we needed to use the elevators a little more often. It was a nightmare....on average we would wait for two or three elevators to arrive before we were able to get one that wasn't full.

Had a wonderful day at The Blue Lagoon. My husband and I were there several years ago and there were a few changes since we were there last. They now had a lot of inflatable water slides and other things in the water that made it look a little tacky. We preferred the natural beauty that we were able to experience last time. We walked down the beach away from those things and spent the afternoon enjoying the warm water, hammocks, and palm trees. Castaway Cay was beautiful and very well maintained. It was nice to be able to enjoy ice cream, beverages, and lunch and it be included in the cost of the cruise.

We had a very nice time at the ports and we were able to make some wonderful memories with our children. We were able to experience the Disney difference but it was not worth the price and we will not do it again.....
