We were on a 7 day cruise on the Disney Magic from Port Canaveral to St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Castaway Cay, and back to Port Canaveral.

Here are my thoughts:

The service was exceptional. Disney really emphasizes customer service and that makes a huge difference in the overall enjoyment.

It is a great safe environment for kids with hundreds of kid counselors all over the ship. Kids 8 and older may check themselves in and out of the kids club without an adult. It doesn't take long to feel comfortable letting the kids walk around the ship on their own.

Kid oriented services are amazing. For example, staff are always there to help kids with their trays in the buffet lines. At sit down dinners, they take your kids to the kids club after dinner so adults can enjoy their desert peacefully.

The entertainment was unbeatable. Only Disney can provide such high quality shows virtually every night, featuring Broadway quality singing/dancing and awesome Disney special effects. All done with the Disney characters that the kids know and love. There were excellent separate adults-only shows as well. Compare that to the cheesy, budget entertainment often found on other cruise lines and all-inclusive resorts-it's no contest.

Disney is the only cruise ship allowed to shoot fireworks at sea, which was the highlight of a fun. Pirates-themed deck party.

Food was decent, even for vegetarians. And there was an Indian food option every night for those who wanted it.

Things were kept very clean, including buffets. Hand sanitizing towelettes were given to all guests before each meal. Hand sanitizing was required when leaving and returning to ship also. They don't nickel and dime charge for every little thing as we had experienced before on other cruise lines. Though not everything is included.

For example towels are given freely for use on and off the ship without towel cards or any return verification at all.

St. Maarten was an excellent destination with honest friendly people and cheap two dollar beers.

St. Thomas is a US Virgin island so AT&T/Sprint phones work without roaming. Beautiful fine white sand beaches.

Castaway Cay is the highlight. Manmade, but gorgeous beach/lagoon with everything you could want on the island.

Everything is made more fun by the Disney characters. They have scheduled appearances throughout the days and surprise appearances at events, meals, shows, etc.
My only criticisms: The cost is high (but you get what you pay for). We were slightly disappointed with the kids club organized activities, which didn't seem to be very impressive. The facilities are good (4 separate clubs for different age groups), but there didn't seem to be much organized activity especially for my 8 year old twin boys. (My tween loved the tween club)

Overall I highly recommend it. Far superior to the three other cruises (Carnival, Royal Carribean, Norwegian) I have been on.
