First of all, let me say that this was one of the best vacations I have ever taken. Everything went very smoothly, including the flights to Orlando, the transfers to Port Canaveral and the cruise itself. As a single mom traveling with a six year old son, I was a little nervous about safety, etc... but once on board the ship, I soon found out I had nothing at all to worry about! My son absolutely loved the children's program and begged to stay late every night to watch the movie with his new friends. This gave me plenty of time to relax and be with "adults" while I knew my child was well taken care of.
The highlight of the cruise was definitely Castaway Cay where my son and friends built sandcastles on pristine beaches while I sat on a lounge chair under an umbrella, sipped cool drinks and caught up on some reading.
The nightly shows were fabulous, especially on the last night which definitely should not be missed and there were plenty of opportunities to visit with the Disney characters who showed great patience throughout the cruise during countless photo sessions and autograph signings.
The only negative I can think of is the quality of food. I have been on many other cruise lines who offered much, much better food. But that is not why we took this cruise and it shouldn't stop anyone from taking it either. The food is adequate, my son loved the children's menu and I was happy to actually take a cruise and NOT gain the usual five pounds!
***Overall this cruise was a wonderful experience and we will be taking the same one again next year. We did not combine it with the Disney World segment because I thought that might be a little too much and I still think I am right. My son refers to our cruise as "Paradise" and I must say I agree with him wholeheartedly!!!
