This was our first cruise aboard the Disney Criuse Line. Arriving in Port
Canaveral, we found great ease at finding parking, checking in & boarding the
ship. The cruise line has it's own terminal, which is quite a beauty and very
obvious it belongs to Disney. We were greeted by friendly crew members and
eventually found our cabin. The room was an inside Category 10, small, but was
able to accommodate my husband, my 4 year old daughter and myself quite
comfortably. The ship is big enough so it doesn't seem crowded. The restaurants
on board are fabulous, but the one that stood out the most was Tritons, located
on Deck 3. The decor was breathtaking and the intricately designed Ariel tile
wall at the rear of the restaurant is amazing! Our wait staff was very pleasant
and knowledgeable about everything. Although, one problem we had was in
Shutters, the photo gallery, they lost our photos. Not one person who worked in
the gallery wanted to help us either, until one man came along and was willing
to go above and beyond his duty to help us get those memories back. One thing
that cannot be missed, are the broadway-esque shows performed in the Walt Disney
Theatre each night. These are top quality performers, sets and effects. The maid
service we had was wonderful, she always had our room in tip top condition
whenever we came back to our room. Deck 9 was heaven for snackers! There was hot
dogs, salads, ice cream, chicken fingers & pizza available throughout the day
until late. Disney's own private island, Castaway Cay, was great! There is allot
to do if you like beaches and the outdoors. Cold water is available throughout
the island. Lunch is a buffet of hamburgers, hotdogs, ribs, a salad bar, pasta
salad, coleslaw, fruit and cookies. Which was quite good, but available for only
a couple hours. A shipboard account was also convenient, money was NEVER needed,
even on Castaway Cay and Nassau's shore excursions!! The staff was friendly and
helpful. The food was probably a 7, out of 10 due to poorly prepared Escargot
(sandy). Everything else was great!! I definitely recommend this cruise line,
everything was so convenient and well prepared!
