Excerpts from Holland America's Website
about the Amsterdam

It was from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, that bold Dutch traders sailed in search of treasures unknown, founding a rich legacy upon which today's fleet is built. Everywhere you look, a sense of style and history pervades. Priceless antiques and original works of art. Burnished brass. Sweeping staircases. A promenade that completely encircles the ship. Teak deck chairs, sleek and inviting. Everything is genuine. All this and more can be found on the elegant ms Amsterdam.
