Overall we were very impressed with the quality of the staterooms and service on
board the Oosterdam. The staterooms were elegant and the bed mattresses were
superb. Our stateroom attendant kept the room spotless. Use of the fold out bed
for our 3rd passenger was a hassle. We prefer the fold down beds offered by
Carnival and Princess. The food was above average but below the quality of the
Grand Princess on trip we took two years ago. Cruise Director Jason Venner is
best in the business. The evening shows were hilarious. There were some quirky
things that we didn't care for on Holland America. There was no ATM machine on
board although the Front Desk could accommodate a cash advance against a credit
card. We also thought it was stupid that an additional designated amount could
not be assigned for our stateroom attendant or our main waiter in the dining
room on our master billing. Front desk told us to do cash. The Lido Deck buffet
was great. Seafood in the dining room was superb but the buyer for beef needs to
find another supplier. The beef tenderloin was simply put, awful. There were
plenty of fun activities on board. This was one of our top 3 cruises that we've
taken. The Oosterdam is a great ship. You will really enjoy your 7 day cruise
experience on it!
