Cruise Line: Holland America

Ship: Oosterdam

Sailing Date: 2012-03-18

Itinerary: Mexico and Hawaii

Having booked the cruise to celebrate our 40th anniversary, we were very unfortunate to have had very poor weather. First week was the Mexico cruise which should have been 3 stops but was reduced to 2. The next 2 weeks were a cruise to Hawaii but as said the weather was very poor and this affected the excursions.

The main complaints I have is firstly If I new it was a cruise for the elderly and disabled I would have chosen another cruise. It is very much geared up for the American market. The gratuities are far too much at 11.50 dollars a day each plus 1.75 dollars tax on all drinks. The food was always Luke warm or cold no matter where you ate. I am used to hot food which I have had on all other cruise lines. Needless to say it will be by first and last with Holland America.

Always Luke warm or cold for all meals.

Could do with a refurbishment and pretty cramped.

Not a lot to do unless you are into fitness or card schools. Theatre was best activity of the day.

Not impressed
