Words can barely express what a pathetic
rip-off this cruise is. Our experience was awful from before we even got off the
ship all the way to the end.
It took us over two hours to get on board as the staff was slow and the shore
facility was ill-equipped.
Upon boarding, age of the ship was obvious. The room was tacky and the furniture
was ancient. They claim to have done an extensive renovation in 2000 but from
what I can tell, all that means is that they threw some blue paint over the
seriously rusted hull.
The shower tile was covered with mildew and was almost too disgusting to even
use.
The expensive drinks were not only watered down but had absolutely no alcohol in
them. I approached the bartender on the issue and he just shrugged and said
"What can I do??".
The food was disgusting. We had five course dinners each night but they were
awful from start to finish. Our spring vegetable pastry was made with those
little cubed peas and carrots you get in the frozen food section. The couple
beside us actually had hair in their soup. The cheesecake was chunky. I could
barely recognize the New York steak as being beef. At breakfast the next morning
the scrambled artificial eggs were slimy, the toast was wilted, the fruit was
well past ripe, and my wife found something blue in her not-freshly-prepared
cinnamon bun. Yuck!!!
We were taken to the blue lagoon for snorkeling for $50. We were supposed to see
bright colorful coral. There was none. We were supposed to see lots of fish.
There was one school of fish. We got a "complimentary" BBQ lunch that was awful.
What a rip-off!
Then back to the ship for another equally disgusting 5 course meal. The crew had
the gall to come out and encourage us to give them a round of applause for the
quality of the meal, service, entertainment, etc.
As far as the entertainment is concerned, what a joke. They claim to have a lot
but they certainly don't have anything that resembles the showgirl on the web
page. All the other entertainment takes place in two dingy smoky lounges in one
hour intervals. One hour for a piano bar then one hour for karaoke then one hour
for something else. What a joke.
Speaking of jokes. The pool is about 12 feet by 12 feet. Room enough for about 2
people to sit and soak in cold water. The hot tub was about the same size.
I'm too angry to type any more but I could go on complaining for longer than the
40 hours that they claim is a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas.
