I was somewhat disappointed in the cruise we went on. The cabins were ridiculously small; basically I felt I was in a train cabin instead. We had requested ocean view on our cabin and the size of the window was that of an oversized plate. Food and entertainment seem to be what lures most people into cruises but both of these were rather mediocre at the Ocean Breeze. The pool is the size of a Jacuzzi but 5 feet deep; I don’t think I ever saw anyone in it.
If you plan on taking this cruise be prepared to automatically be charged $20 per person for gratuities in addition to a 15% gratuity for any type of drink you purchase, including bottled water. From the moment you step on the ship to the moment you leave you will be bombarded by friendly waiters trying to sell to you drinks. We had 5 waiters approach us within 30 minutes and that was rather annoying.
We went on the snorkeling excursion, it was bitterly cold and windy so it was not as enjoyable as it could have been but the spot they took us to was a great one. Then we were taken to Blue Lagoon, a private island which we were told our ship was the only one that could have passengers go there, when we arrived, there were passengers from 3 or 4 other cruise lines. It was a beautiful Island. The excursion included lunch, which was absolutely terrible. It costed about $51 per person. A couple we met went on the limousine excursion, which charges $33 per person and they put 6 people per limo. They were not pleased with their experience. They only stopped at one spot and they had expected to be able to stop at different places and be able to take pictures.
Overall the ship was clean and the staff friendly and pleasant. This is definitely just a means to get to Nassau and nothing else. If you want to enjoy superb and abundant food, great shows and things to do in the ship this is not the one to take.
