Ship: Regal Empress
Itinerary: Bahamas
Don't waste your money on this cruise. the ship is old and has a faint yet
detectable odor of raw sewage that hits you as soon as you step on board. The
bathrooms are tiny and the layout of the ship is not easily navigatable. They
charge you a $19.50 gratuity charge at the beginning of the trip, then turn
around and charge an extra 15% to your bill every time you buy a drink. The
elevator was broken, so you had to walk up 5-7 flights of stairs to get to the
pool, restaurant, casino, gift shop, lounges, etc.. And the icing on the cake
was that my sister was sick during the lifeboat drill, so we asked the closest
crewmember for directions to the doctors office, but because of his limited
English he could not understand us. This is completely unacceptable in any realm
of the service industry.
The only good things I can say about this line is that our steward, Renando, and
out waiter Leroy were fantastic. I couldn't have asked for better service from
them, but unfortunately it was not enough to change my opinion or brighten my
experience with Imperial Majesty.
