I was pleasantly surprised at the food and service on the ship and my overall experience was positive. There are several reccomendations I could make for the cruise and future passengers. Having to go to the 'vacation center' on route 441 in Ft. Lauderdale is out of the way and a distance for many. Tickets ould be picked up at the pier or received by mail without the inconvience of having to travel to the vacation center at the Ramada. The Regal Empress is an old ship, well maintained, but in her prime of life. Costs could be cut down by going to other closer ports in the Bahamas and by considering a longer cruise. I look forward to seeing their `new` ship the Bahamas Celebration, and to see if any longer cruises will be available. The food was of good quality, fresh, and well prepared - not overcooked. The stateroom was surprisingly roomy and comfortable, and clean. Onboard activities were like many cruise ships. I visited places `on my own`.
