Just a note to say that the Regal Empress will be a great memory for myself and my wife. We sailed her on two different occasions with the first being our honeymoon and also our first cruise together (1996) and the other a wonderful gathering of 8 friends from childhood (1998). We had a wonderful time on the only true cruise ship that was left on the seas. The crew was wonderful, the officers were great and friendly and the accomodations were simply marvelous. We had to go without air conditioning a couple of nights but the ships company made up for any shortcomings we ever experienced. I hated to see that the old girl had been scrapped but I understand when things get to be our age you have to expect that someone is going to try and take a torch to you every once in a while. You see the Empress and I are the same age and plain old rust does build up after time. Bon Voyage Regal Empress, you really made a lot of people happy to sail the seas.
