My wife and I joined MSC Lirica in Port Everglades on January 13th 2005 and were very impressed with the ship. The ship is beautiful and our suite on deck 10 was superb with a bathroom that had a bathtub and shower and plenty of storage. The cabin itself had a large walk in closet and ample sitting area. The balcony was big enough for two to have breakfast at the table in comfort. The public rooms were excellent and the entertainment was excellent and catered for a mixed international passenger list. The standard of service varied and showed that a lot of the crew were new and inexperienced. Departments on board varied and showed, in some cases, that their management was poor. The meals were excellent in the dining room and the selection at the buffet was also very good.

Unfortunately my wife had an accident on deck and then things deteriorated. The medical treatment was woeful and resulted in my wife having a fractured ankle that was basically left untreated until we arrived back in UK. Not one person of this crew even made an enquiry as to her condition and we were virtually confined to our suite for most of the time.

In conclusion, this is a beautiful ship and most things are fine but crew training and customer relations need to be reviewed urgently. Because of our experience I feel that I could not recommend this company as it operates at this time.
