Overall the trip was okay. The ports of call were why we chose this ship as we really wanted to visit Italy. We thought the excursions were overpriced (as they generally are on cruises) but, necessary as we had so little time in port. We would have maybe preferred less ports and more time in particular ports like Rome and Florence. Staff was pretty responsive, but apart from one of our waiters and our amazing stewards no one really went out of their way. The service charge on NCL is a required charge everyday, but, we felt we would have preferred to give our own tips to the people who really deserved it. We haven't much to say about the boat itself, because we were mostly in port. We used the pool which could have been kept cleaner. The shows were terrible barring one guest musician who was pretty good. The company shows were just cheesy and awful. The ship itself is beautiful though and the balconey room we had was very nice. with nice size bathroom. There were absolutely no amenities like I have seen on other cruises. You even had to pay for extra pool towels, which I think is ridiculous.

The food was terrible. We didn't try the specialty restaurants as we thought it was highway robbery that there were so limited options if you didn't want to pay a cover (after the ridiculous price we were already paying for the cruise, drinks, and excursions). The food in their main dining rooms were nothing special and sometimes downright bad. Forget the buffet it was awful! The shrimp cocktail was actually spoiled. I was really disappointed!!!!

We didn't really participate in many on board activities. The band on the pool deck was quite good.

The Pompei Amalfi coast was great. Lunch was lovely and our tour guide was FANTASTIC! It was expensive but worth it. Stay away from "Florence on your own". What a rip off. The port is so far from the city of florence that we had no other choice but to pay the ridiculous fee so we could get into Florence. Better to pay a little more and actually have a tour of the city you'll get more out of it and not feel so ripped off!

We would not cruise with NCL again. We were really disappointed. I have been much happier on other cruise lines. The only thing we liked was that we didn't have a set time for dinner, but if the food is terrible so that doesn't really make up for it!
