This was the second NCL cruise we have taken in 13 months and on both cruises
the ship developed "engine problems" that caused us to skip at least one port. I
honestly feel that NCL has a quality control problem that they need to address.
Since the port we missed on this cruise was Savannah there was a near passenger
mutiny on board. Not only were we late arriving at every port which caused
severe problems with planned port activities but we missed entirely our favorite
port. NCL management seems to feel that engine malfunctions are not NCL's fault
and they refused to compensate passengers for NCL's negligence (except for a $25
credit which was insulting). The Captain, after hearing complaints from almost
all of the passengers said that he was not authorized to issue any form of
compensation but that the home office would take care of it. Needless to say the
home office refused any compensation. I have taken approximately 30 cruises, and
I have never come accross such arrogance by a cruise company. I will never take
another NCL cruise and would advise anyone considering NCL to reconsider.
