Norwegian Crown Cruise Review

Ship: Norwegian Crown

Itinerary: Bermuda

This was our first cruise and we enjoyed it very much. My wife and I and our 10 month old baby girl all had a great time. We found our room (Penthouse 1010) to be much larger and nicer than we expected. The balcony was huge and worth the splurge. We found the staff to be almost uniformly friendly and accomdating. Having a baby on board wasn't a problem, in fact, it was easier than flying and made getting around Bermuda a pleasure. The excursions were quite good and we liked Mulligans restaurant where we used our meal vouchers to be a "find". The food on board was quite good and stroller-friendly. Le Bistro was worth the extra charge but we only ate there once. The other meals on board and room service were excellent as far as presentation though the flavors were often muted--probably to suit the tastes of less-adventurous diners.

We found the ship had enought to offer for a week. The shows, the bingo, the trivia games all made it easy to kill time between meals and excursions. If you don't mind riding a bus or ferry, getting around Bermuda isn't hard or all that pricey. Renting scooters is another option, but not exactly an option with a 10-month old. Horseshoe Bay was a fabulous beach and worth a visit. Tobacco Bay has a small beach, but it offered decent snorkelling.

We were won over by NCL and the Crown. I'm sure there are larger and more modern ships out there, but we had a fantastic vacation.
