My husband and I had previously sailed on Royal Carribean cruise line and found it to be much better than Norweigan. What we really did not like was the pool area. The pool was so small and you could barely get in it because it was so crowded. Secondly, they had loud reggae music playing non stop which became very annoying. They also didn't have enough lounge chairs and virtually no shady areas for people who did not want to bake in the sun. Our cabin was very small. We had an ocean view room, that could barely fit our luggage. However the entertainment was fantastic and the onboard activities were great.

Unfortuneatly, due to a hurricane we had to leave Bermuda a day and a half early. We spent more time in the spa pool area which cost $20 each day for one person because we hated the regular pool area. We also felt like we were nickeled and dimed every where we went. The specialty restaurants all had a cover charge. Soda also cost you. I had a spa treatment and the staff pushed me into buying their products. We spent a lot more money than we felt we should have. They also add a automatic gratuity charge to each person at $12 each per day. I would rather tip for good service.

The food at the specialty restaurants was great. However, it was hard to get reservations earlier than 9pm most of the days. The specialty restaurants were quite small. Cagney's (Steakhouse) was almost impossible to get into. The Japanese restaurant had one hibachi table. The portions in the main dining rooms (at no cost) were very small but you could order more than one. The menus in the main restaurants never changed. The buffet food at the Garden Cafe was like eating college food. They also had the same menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner menus were exactly the same. The one night with the dessert buffet was not that impressive. They had no great displays of food and the desserts were average at best.

Our ocean view stateroom was very small. The carpet was quite dusty and the shower was kind of dirty around the edges. However, the storage for clothes was quite adequate.

We really enjoyed the nightly entertainment. We also played in fun trivia contests, bingo and games each day. The cruise director's staff was great. The cruise director was very fun (John).

Excursions can be expensive. We should have spent more time at the beautiful beach then doing a trolley tour.

Overall it was pretty good, the pool area and the extra costs bothered us quite a bit, but we would definately not cruise on Norweigan again.
