This was our 3rd NCL cruise. Our first with the freestyle format. Overall, we had a wonderful time and had a great time in Bermuda. We loved being on one island for more than 1 day.

I agree with another poster about the pool. It was too small for the amount of people on board. I think it is deceiving to list that the ship has 3 pools, since the 3rd is in the spa and you have to pay to use it. The 2nd day at sea was very crowded and I saw a couple of people fighting over deck chairs. The only shady areas had tables, no room for lounge chairs. Secondly, they had very loud reggae music playing non stop which became very annoying. My 8 yr old did use the T-Rex kids pool area, but it was more suited for kids younger than him.

That being said, the entertainment was fantastic and the onboard activities were great.

The specialty restaurants all had a cover charge, we went to almost all of them. We did go for the 2 for 1 option if you ate before 7:00 pm, kids were free if they chose from the childrens menu. Soda will also cost you and I felt this was very chincy. The food at the specialty restaurants was great, hard to make a reservation from your room, I kept getting the runaround. It is much easier to make them from the stand in the lobby or from the Grand Cafe in the morning. The menus in the main restaurants never changed. The buffet food at the Garden Cafe was average at best, more of a cafeteria. The kids cafe area was a nice touch with kid friendly food and lower tables.

Our cabin was what we expected in size. We had an inside room. The room was clean, the remote for the TV was broken and I am sure they would have fixed it if we asked. We did have a problem with towels. We never had pool towels in our room the whole entire trip. We had to ask a room steward for them every day. One day they only left us 1 bath towel, no other towels whatsoever. I don't know what was behind our room, but there was some sort of crew area or loading area and it was noisy at night.

We really enjoyed the nightly entertainment. We liked the crew entertainment show at the end. The cruise director and his staff staff were excellent. The cruise director (John) was very fun and approachable. We especially liked the crew showcase show and Bollywood.

Excursions can be expensive but there were several offerings. We took an excursion to Horseshoe Bay, and a taxi or pink bus would have been fine. We went snorkeling from a catamaran and it was excellent.

We felt this was a great option for a family friendly vacation. It had something for all of us.
