On a scale of 1-10, I would give the cruise a 9.

Only problem was food: cooked all in vegetable oil which permeated all cooked food including pastries. I don't know who to blame for the lack of butter in my food, i.e.: cooking my eggs, pastries, etc. Get a french chef to make the pastries! Get an Italian chef to make the pizza and pasta. Phillipinos don't know cooking! Don't pass off Cool-Whip for whipped cream. When serving prime rib.....Use prime meat, not a lower grade.

This all refers to the free dining experiences in the Aqua, Venetian, and Garden Cafe. Did not eat in the additional charge restaurants.

The Dawn was a very comfortable ship and stateroom was very nicely done with a lot of storage. The stateroom was clean and shiny and very adequate for two.

Staff was excellent, Cruise Director, Matt, was phenomenal along with his entertainment staff. There was always something to do and no time to stay in stateroom. The Cruise Director and his staff made the experience outstanding. The ports of call were just what I wanted. The coastlines of New England and Canada were also a sight to see.

Shore excursions too expensive. In Boston, ship was moored far from center of town and NCL hired buses to take us into town or civilization. Only problem: they charged us $20 round trip to do this. Why? They don't charge you when you have to take a tender!
