Just finished a 10 Night Cruise to the Souther Caribbean. Having cruised a
previous three times with other lines I was most impressed with Norwegian's
Freestyle Dining. Something for everyone. Balcony cabin for two people was
adequate size and balcony was wide enough for a reclining sun chair. Food was
excellent, varied dining options, used them all. Loved Le Bistro best, although
they were all good. Do not like cafeteria eating much and we used the dining
rooms for all meals, excellent service, portions of good size for Europeans.
Ports of call were all good, nothing to complain about there. We used the tours
from the islands rather than the ships and found them to be cheaper than the
ship and just as good.
Must comment though on the embarkation process, it took just forever, we had to
queue up for over an hour, and that was only to get in another line for the
boarding procedures, tip, to make it quicker remember to register online it
makes the line move so much quicker.
Disembarkation also took forever, being a foreign visitor, we were sitting in
the theatre waiting to be taken for immigration for 2 hours 45 minutes, cannot
help but think they could try and do better with this. Norwegian say they cannot
control this process as it is in the hands of immigration, but Norwegian were
very disorganised in handing out cards with numbers on for disembarkation.
Nothing in the literature given, stating that you need these cards, it was
complete chaos when we were asked for these cards to find we did not have them.
Would be so much easier if these cards were handed out the night before along
with your coloured luggage tags.
However, excellent cruise rating, really enjoyed the experience except for
getting on and getting off.
