Embarkation and dis-embarkation is a nightmare when sailing from New York. The
terminal is crowded with passengers and porters trying to get on and off the
ship. Taxi's are impossible to get(Tip- when disembarking get the elevator to
street level, cross the road and get a cab there it is so much easier)
Now the negatives are out of the way the cruise itself was outstanding. the
"Freestyle" concept is and excellent idea as there is so many choices of where
to eat on this ship. All the restaurants are extremely high in quality of food
and the service is fantastic. Although do be aware that there is a coverage
charge in some restaurants.
Entertainment is of a very high standard with an excellent itenary we can have
no complaints about the boat, staff or the cruise itself.
However as a foreign national the disembarkation was rather dis organised
particularly as we had a nine month old with us we were stuck in the Stardust
theatre for over 2 hours. This does not happen on other cruise lines and i think
this along with the chaotic embarkation and dis embarkation at the terminal
really has to be addressed by NCL.
NCL say our experience was "unusual" however after reading similiar reviews on
this site NCL should move quickly to address this as it certainly put a dampner
on our holiday.
