Although I have cruised before my sister and my daughter had not so I was very
leary after reading reviews of the Dream that were quite negative. But my
worries were in vain -we all loved every aspect of the cruise!!
Embarking- everything went quickly and smoothly. Our luggage was waiting in our
room when we got there.
Room- we had an outside room and it was quite roomy and had a large window.
Plenty of closet room. The room was cleaned daily and sheets and towels replaced
as well as the beds turned down with a chocolate on the pillow each evening.
Staff- All staff were friendly and courteous. Several remembered us when we came
back a second time.
Service- we ate in all the restaurants except le Bistro. Service was great! Food
was also great! The portions were smallish but this allowed us to have
appetizers, soup or salad, entree, dessert and not go away stuffed!
Entertainment- We enjoyed all the shows, we didn't play Bingo or go to the
Casino but these both seemed to be enjoyed.
Ports- We enjoyed all the ports. In Cozumel we did the glass bottom Kayaks and
snorkeling. This was well worth the cost, two drinks were included and a fruit
platter. The young Spanish man who was in charge of this did a very good job.
Roatan-In Roatan we took the tender ashore and visited the shops etc. This was
an eye-opener to the poverty in the area. The shops were good and we purchased
some souvenirs.
Belize- in Belize we went ashore and took a shore excursion to "Gilligans
Island" snorkeling. It was a great day the island was small but beautiful.
Cancun-in Cancun we took a cab to a mall and then came back and did the "beach
thing". I had been to Cancun before and was happy to just "bake" on shore.
New Orleans- getting back to New Orleans early in the morning we had the day to
discover before our plane left in the evening. We were able to have our luggage
stored for us and taken to the airport to meet us. New Orleans is an adventure
in itself!
All in all it was a wonderful holiday, we all felt bad at the bad reviews the
dream has gotten. Anyone we spoke to on the cruise was more than happy.
