This was my first cruise and I was anxious after reading all of the negative reviews that the Dream got. My group had a good time, we were aware before the cruise that we wouldn't be stopping at Cancun so we weren't too disappointed. Out group was large, there was 14 of us. Even after making reservations in one of the 2 main dining rooms, we were never able to get a table to accommodate all 14 of us. They usually broke us into a table of 6, 4, and 4. This was ok, but we would've liked to sit all together at least once. My room was an ocean view stateroom, and for 4 people it's pretty cramped. There was a queen sized bed and a pull out couch. Our room was always made up nicely and there were towel animals made every night. Rules were not enforced on the ship, however, with children running around unsupervised and people smoking in undesignated areas. Children were always in the hot tubs without supervision and they were often swimming in the pool bar. Meals were just ok... steaks were rarely cooked the right way, but the service was awesome and very attentive. The people I traveled with have been on other cruise lines and said that the food was much better on the other cruises. I did like the buffets, especially the bbq and breakfast in the pizzeria. The waffle and omelette stations were a hit. Go to the shows, the performers are very talented and the shows are good... not Vegas quality but who really expects that? The casino was fun, I played slots each time we went and won over $200. The ports we went to were beautiful with the exception of Cozumel which is in the rebuilding stage. Definitely check out Roatan, I did the dolphin encounter which was well worth the money. Others in my group went scuba diving and had a great time. Honduras was pretty and had great shopping, it was fun dealing with the natives. Belize City was more urban but more expensive. Be careful about buying liquor on the islands, you can't have it on the ship (they take it and give it back to you at the end of the cruise). Even though we had a good time on this cruise I don't think I will cruise NCL again, just because I want to see what else is out there.
