My husband and two children drove to the port of Houston from Dallas. Parking at the port was wonderful and embarking the vessel was even better. Because we were latitudes members we were ushered into a separate line and in total I think it was about 20 minutes from the time we got out of our car until the time we were in our cabin. We were on deck 5 and our cabin had ample space for the 4 of us - a pull out couch/bed for the kids and a nice big bed for us with an ocean view.

The Kids Corner was wonderful and the girls did a great job as there were SO many children on this cruise. We liked the freestyle dining because we were not forced to eat at a given time. However our only complaint would be that the Bistro (the only restaurant on the ship that you actually have to pay extra for) service was very slow. We had arranged a baby sitter that night and we were at dinner for over two hours. In general though the food was wonderful. The ports of call were fine - we didn't choose this cruise because of the itinerary and we of course were sad that Cancun was not accepting cruise passengers as we really wanted to go there. However we did the cave tubing in Belize and it was a blast. In the other ports (Honduras and Cozumel) we walked around and found our own fun.

Our room steward Amalia was an absolutely beautiful girl. How she keeps her happy attitude we will never know because they work so many hours.

Entertainment was okay. I say okay but we really mean that the shows were mediocre. Jane Powell was fantastic - what an entertainer. She should be as famous as Aretha Franklina and we also enjoyed the Maggie and Sam duo. What talent they both have; best voice on the ship. The Dazzles disco was fun for us early before all of the college kids came in as well but we avoided the Observation Lounge with the duo called the Two Tones. They were horrible and we only went in there when the karaoke started.

Our disembark was quick and we overall had a wonderful cruise. If you are looking for fancy - don't go on this ship. Pay double and go somewhere else. We have cruised a lot and would definitely sail on NCL again.
