We researched NCL and decided to give it a try. Since we spend many hours on our balcony, it was imperative to have a balcony that's covered (to avoid rain) and private. In deciding to spend A LOT MORE money for our cabin we called NCL's "specialist" and asked if we upgraded from a balcony to a "Penthouse Suite" is the balcony (or outside deck) covered & private? NCL's specialist said "ABSOLUTELY!" WELL...there was no covering or roof on the outside fact the bridge 1 floor higher had a clear view of us 24-7! So much for sitting in the rain and for privacy! We were lied to, and NCL said "sorry!"
When we wrote to the VP of NCL he forwarded our letter to their "cookie cutter" customer service dept. who said..they can not guarantee all information we received (NOT EVEN FROM THEM???). They gave us a flimsy shipboard credit for our next cruise. Right! My advice...get everything in writing from their "cruise specialist!"

The alternative dining experience was lovely and refreshing for us. Half of the restaurants had an additional fee...some were absolutely not worth it...some were. Personal choice. There were 2 regular evening dining rooms that were included...adn they were wonderful. The service everywhere was excellent!

Our costly Penthouse suite had only 1 window (not even floor-to-ceiling.)..and no covered or private balcony!
From the outside large balcony, we were always on display from the Bridge above us with crew 24-7 and passing tourists looking down. Just awful!

We were at concierge & butler level...our concierge was so-so...our butler was wonderful!
The appointments in the stateroom were lovely, but, the sitting area and limited view from the 1-and-only window was tight!

They were the OK....lots to do, usual cruise-type activites.

The excursions were over-priced ....puffed up info...some were disappointing. Some were OK.

All-in-all...if we were given the accommodations that were described to us by NCL, we would have been generally satisfied. They gave us mis-information and said...basically, sorry! They took no responsibility for their mis-information!
Well sorry, NCL...good-bye to you!
