Norwegian Majesty Cruise Review
Western Caribbean
Eric
Please keep in mind that this review of our vacation is before
the Majesty broke down Christmas week 2006.
Embarkation- Passport, driver’s license, one credit card; all document’s. Bring
all of this information and you should have no problem getting on the ship.
There is a one hour safety drill which everyone must attend then you are on your
own to do whatever you like.
The food in the restaurants was very good and the breakfast, lunch, and dinner
buffet were also good. There was a different variety to choose from every day.
There is no shrimp of any kind served on the buffet. Pack as many bottles of
water as you can.
The production shows were very entertaining. The dancers were
excellent. There were different shows every evening so check the daily paper for
specific details and times. Pool party’s were fun for all ages and the Jamaican
band played tunes throughout the day.
Tuesday-We arrived at Grand Cayman one hour late and there were six cruise ships
there. Tenders were very quick to get everyone off and back on. The sting ray
sandbar tour (47.00) was incredible. I highly recommend this excursion. The tour
took three hours and there were no problems at all. There were 25 people on our
boat. When we returned to Georgetown we had just enough time to shop before
heading back to the ship.
Wednesday- There were eight cruise ships at Cozumel. The main strip was perfect
for any type of shopping you wanted . Prices are inexpensive and there was
plenty of Corona’s and Tequila to go around. We took a taxi to Paradise Beach.
The water was beautiful and the food we ordered was excellent. There are black
rocks of all sizes in the water so watch your step. It was very crowded that day
but we had fun snorkeling. Save some time to visit Senor Frogs restaurant. This
place is an all day party and the food was great.
Thursday- Key West was an amazing experience. There are shops and restaurants
around every corner. Musicians were performing acoustical sets at most bars and
you could feel the energy everywhere. We stopped at Hog’s Breath Saloon and
drank their signature beer and ate dinner. The atmosphere and the food was
excellent. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. We could have stayed
there all night.
Disembarkation-You have two options. The early off program where you carry your
own bags or set them out the night before and search for them Saturday morning.
Have your doctor give you motion sickness patches. Put one on before your trip
and change it every 3rd day. Believe me ,you will be glad you did. There is a
pack list available on NCL website. The employees were constantly working around
the clock. There was always someone available to help you with any issue. My
family and I had a great time. This was a very good value for a seven day
cruise. It was interesting to speak with other people from different countries.
This cruise offers a variety of entertainment and is affordable for those who
plan ahead.
